This month ghd and the fab stylists from Regis worked their magic at Cape Town Fashion Week. Do you want to look like you just stepped off the catwalk from a Gavin Rajah show? Here’s how…

Once dry, section your hair into 1cm sections and apply ghd Style Curl Hold Spray (R195) to each section as you are working. Using your ghd Gold Classic styler, gently hold your styler on the hair, pull down until you reach your ears and turn 180 degrees before pulling your styler through the hair. Remember to hold the hair in your other hand the whole time, working slowly to create tight curls. Ensure that the top section of your hair stays smooth and flat by clipping the hair in place above your ears. Once you have finished your curls, rouge these using your fingers by pushing the hair up towards your head. Spray liberally with ghd Style Final Fix Hairspray (R150 for 400ml) to hold the look in place.

Do you remember the days of the crimping iron?

Take a step back in time to the disco era by crimping your hair – simply plait your hair and run your ghd styler over it. Once cooled, undo plait and voila, you will be left with a crimp-like effect. To make sure the look lasts, spray a little hairspray to hold it all in place x

We were all in wonder of Kate’s fabulous hair at the engagement, now we’ve prepared the steps to help you achieve this look yourself.

• First towel dry hair and prepare it for styling using ghd maximise mousse
• Apply ghd thermal protector specific to your hair type to protect your hair from heat damage
• Blow dry in sections, lifting from the root using a ghd anti-static brush to give your hair a good foundation and body
• Using your ghd IV styler, gently hold your styler close to the root and turn 180 degrees before pulling your it through your hair.   Remember to hold the hair in your other hand the whole time.  NOTE: The quicker you pull the styler, the looser the curl will be and the slower you pull your styler through, the tighter your curl will be.
• Wrap the curl around your finger and pin each curl to your head as you go, until the entire head is set with curls
• Once the hair has cooled down, take the pins out and run your hands through the hair to loosen the look
• Separate the curls by shaking your hair through your fingers, and shaping the curls individually
• Simply apply ghd ultimate hairspray to finish the look
